Domingo Vázquez Capa began his journey in the demanding world of fish at the age of just 11. His career began at the Puerta de Toledo Market, where he worked as a waiter. As he gained experience, he performed different roles for various businessmen of the time, including distribution on foot at the Mercado de la Cebada and as an assistant in fishmongers' shops. Gradually, he acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to take on greater responsibilities, becoming a manager in several well-known fishmongers' shops.
A born entrepreneur
At the age of 25, Domingo opened his first fishmonger's shop, located in General Varela Street in Madrid, close to the financial district. For more than 15 years, he ran this business, serving a select clientele that included high-ranking politicians, members of the military and renowned restaurants, such as L'Empordà, under the direction of the prestigious chef Jaime Barrufet, currently based in Barcelona.
The success of this first establishment prompted Domingo to expand his business, opening more outlets over time.
