About FEDEMCO
Since 1991, the Spanish Federation of Wooden Packaging and its Components (FEDEMCO) has brought together companies that manufacture: Wooden containers for fruit and vegetables, wooden containers for fish and shellfish, pallets, boxes and cases for wines, oils, spirits and others agro-food, industrial wood packaging, wood packaging components, plywood, machinery and other supplies.
It integrates several provincial associations of the sector, and due to its national representativeness, it is a reference and valid interlocutor for the Central Government, the employers' leadership or the sectors of packaging and packaging of other materials.
What do FEDEMCO do?
WORK AREAS Labor and risks We defend the position of our associates in the revision of the professional classification in the wood sector, because we participate in the Working Group of the CONFEMADERA National Agreement. Forestry – Supplies We influence policy. We are in contact with the production and marketing chain of wood as container, packaging and pallet material. Especially poplar as the main material in the manufacture of plywood, components and agri-food wooden containers. Food safety We influence legislation and standards
\r\nWe participate in the development of a standard that unifies the different national systems on hygiene in the manufacture of containers, currently existing. (BRC/IoP, IFS, ISO 2200, etc), because we are part of the CEN/TC 261/ WG 1 Committee \”Management of hygiene in the production of packaging for foodstuffs\” We participate in the proposals of the packaging sector to the Commission Union on the legislation that requires the traceability of materials in contact with food, and in the preparation of a guide on how to implement traceability in each packaging sector, because we are part of the Industrial Committee on Traceability and Materials in Contact with Food.
