The Caselli Distillery was born in 1860 thanks to FRANCESCO CASELLI. At the beginning it was essentially a grocery where an infinity of goods were produced. The liqueurs of the time were produced in the rooms on the ground floor and in the cellars of Palazzo Caselli in the historic center of Sassuolo. When, in the early 1900s, GALDINO CASELLI took over the business, the Drogheria was increasingly transformed into a Distillery. As an expert liqueurist, he was very skilled in creating different types of spirits and liqueurs and the most famous became the star anise elixir later called "Sassolino".
