Fruits and Vegetables producer COMPAGNIE FRUTIERE

About COMPAGNIE FRUTIERE

Compagnie Fruitière is a family business created in 1938 in Marseille, a European leader and the leading fruit producer in the Africa Caribbean Pacific area, specializing in the production, transport and distribution of fruit and vegetables.

It produces, transports, ripens and markets more than 900,000 tons of fruit and vegetables, including 750,000 tons of bananas in Europe and around the world.

The comprehensive control of the entire sector, from production to distribution, allows unique operational efficiency, as well as total control of the quality and taste of the products it distributes.

What do COMPAGNIE FRUTIERE do?

Compagnie Fruitière has been focusing its production on organic farming and fair trade for some time now.

The constant increase in organic farming areas is one of the main objectives of the group, both in Africa and in Latin America, in order to respond to the great demand for these products in all the markets where Compagnie Fruitière is present.

This entails the application of great know-how at the production level.

Thus, organic agriculture does not use chemical products or synthetic pesticides, so alternative methods must be found to fertilize the soil and other synergies with other agricultural products, such as cattle or poultry, for the production of compost.

In this way, an authentic ecosystem of collaborators who coexist and work in symbiosis is formed. Organic farming also has the will to preserve biodiversity.

Compagnie Fruitière markets a very wide range of nearly 50 varieties of fruit and vegetables with a total of more than 900,000 tons of fruit and vegetables sold in Europe.

This production comes both from Compagnie Fruitière farms and from the holdings of more than 100 producers on five continents.

It grows its own bananas, pineapples, tomatoes, cocoa, corn and Penja pepper on its farms in the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal and Ecuador, and also has agreements with producers in the area, whatever their size. This fruit and vegetable continues its journey through the integral chain of sectors until its distribution in Europe and throughout the world.

What is the value proposition of COMPAGNIE FRUTIERE?

Compagnie Fruitière follows responsible practices, guaranteeing the continuity of its activities. In those countries where it operates, the group has implemented a proactive policy, which includes respect for workers and the environment.

"It is not possible to obtain good fruit without passion or know-how, the will to improve as well as without respect for humanity and our environment."

Jérôme Fabre, CEO of Compagnie Fruitière.
