Ice Cream and Pastry Equipment producer BOVO
About BOVO
Our company has a history behind it, which deserves to be told.
When the Longarone ice cream fair opened its doors, back in 1959, Bovo was one of the 18 companies that courageously took on the responsibility of promoting good Italian ice cream, creating interest around the machinery for its production and facilitating the technical evolution.
In truth, the story of Bovo begins more than fifteen years earlier when Mr. Bruno Pillon, railway worker, together with some colleagues, had the idea of producing ice cream tools and machines by recovering pieces of cast iron and other materials discarded by the State Railways.
Thus it was that, in a small workshop and with the sole aid of a manual press, Bruno created the first scissor portioner; a real novelty immediately appreciated by those ice cream migrants who, returning from the summer season in Austria and Germany, stopped in the small shops of Longarone to admire the latest discoveries in the art of ice cream making.
Soon the portioner gave way to more complex machines that required larger spaces to be designed and assembled and it was thus that, in 1946, Bovo was born.
